The white-tailed is a medium-sized deer with white patches around the belly, eyes, inner ear and underside of its tail. The brown coat varies from deeper and reddish brown in the summer to paler grayish tones in the winter. Fawn coats are spotted until they mature. Buck antlers, which grow in each spring and are shed in winter, can grow up to three feet across.
